For those that collect the Spawn cards, is this a good deal or not?

Unopened/sealed box of Toy Files cards and unopened/sealed box of Spawn Chromium cards for $55 delivered.

Each on their own usualy goes for $35 before shipping. So it is decent enough. [img]smile.gif[/img] Now that is if the Chromium card box is of the full set and not an archive set (that one goes for ~$15 shipped)

As for the contents:

I have purchased a Toy Files box and was able to get about 1 1/2 base sets out of the box, and 2 chase cards. The toy files has a 90 card base set, a chase set of 6 red foil sketch cards, 4 double sided card, and one Blue Spawn embossed card. The base set will run you around 8-15 shipped.

If the chromium set is the Archive Chromium set, there are 50 cards in there. 1-50 of the 1-99 Chromium set. No chase, no extras. If it is a full box, I have not purchased one of those, but would think getting a full base set would be doable, but difficult as the box (I think) contains 24 packs of 7 cards (168), with 99 being the base set. That statement is just on experience of cards boxes I have opened in the past. Chase cards for this set are 10 motion cards. Not sure of the packing ratio, but with the lack of them ever seen on eBay I think if you get one of them in a box you can count yourself lucky!

aspawnfan, bonedust, or Max (if he were still around) would be the best people to ask on this if you have time. I would PM aspawnfan and ask - he has been extremely helpful to me in the past on information like this.

When I went looking, I found that auction on Yahoo.

That isn't the Archive set, so it is the 99 card set.

I would PM aspawnfan to see if he has any insights into this set, as I fel a box may be hard to get a full base set, but then I don't see any single sets floating around either.

I do know I have a lot of cast offs from spares that I have accumulated, so if you get the box and are missing some, then give me a shout and I"ll see if I can help (commission on *** ebay comics! [img]wink.gif[/img] )

that's not a bad price. They rarely show up for auction. When you consider I paid $100 when they came out for the same box, damn good deal. You should come close to getting a full set of regular cards, chase cards good luck. It seems like to this old man that you didn't get many per box. Don't remember for sure. i also have some extra's if you need help filling in a set.

On the Chromium cards. there is a difference between the two sets on the first 50 cards. the fronts are the same but the back side is different. The 99 card set has an interview with Todd. One question and answer per card. Very cool. The 50 card set gives a synopsis of each issue.
